Robert G. Abney
Robert is licensed to practice in the state of Ohio as well as the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
With a diverse background that includes working in a personal injury law firm and the Stark County Public Defender’s office, Robert is prepared to share his insight with clients facing the full range of legal issues. Robert opened the Abney Law Office over 10 years ago to focus solely on divorce and custody litigation.
The loving father of three, Robert met his wife while earning his dual Bachelor of Science degrees in finance and business pre-law. Robert then went to law school on scholarship where he graduated early from The University of Akron School of Law with his Juris Doctor degree.

Mary Warlop
Mary is licensed to practice law in the state of Ohio. She began her legal career working for the Stark County Prosecutor’s office where she worked for several years. Mary also worked for several years as an attorney for the Stark County Public Defender’s office. Mary serves as a guardian ad litem and has completed guardian ad litem training approved by the Ohio Supreme Court.
Mary is originally from Stow, Ohio. She attended Kent State University where she graduated cum laude and received a degree of Bachelor of Arts with a double major in political science and Latin American studies. Mary then attended The University of Akron School of Law and was awarded her Juris Doctor degree.

Angela Pontones
Angela is originally from Stark County, Ohio, where she graduated from Sandy Valley High School. Angela attended Stark State College where she earned an associate’s degree in legal assisting. She received the honor of being recognized with placement on the President’s List and Dean’s List.
Angela began working for our firm in March of 2009. Angela serves as the firm’s divorce litigation paralegal and works closely with both attorneys and clients.
